News Websites

When using news websites, be sure to get a balance from across the political bias spectrum. If you're not sure about a site, check with Media Bias Fact Check, an independent online media outlet that educates the public on media bias and deceptive news practices. It's also helpful to determine a site's level of accuracy when reporting on scientific topics.

You can visit the website or install their browser extension for Chrome or Firefox.

Another good source for balanced news is Allsides.

Database - Full Text Search

If you're finding that your results are showing articles that we don't have access to, remember to check "full-text" in your search. Here is where the option is located in Ebsco:

If you've already completed your search, you can still select "full text" to refine the results.

Social-Searcher

Try out Social Searcher to search 12 social media sites all at once. Try a search with a hashtag (#metoo) and without (metoo) for different results. (Since this is new, give me feedback on how it works for you.)
